Jon van den Heever
Jon van den Heever learned his trade at Independent Newspapers Cape in Cape Town, South Africa (formerly Argus Newspapers) with 20 years in the Special Projects department, in the latter years as editor and then freelance travel editor of the Weekend Argus travel section which he was instrumental in building up from a monthly feature to a highly successful weekly supplement. He has travelled widely and has written many pieces for the supplement. He now lives at the edge of a forest near the seaside resort town of Plettenberg Bay and works freelance as a consultant and as a contributor to Saturday Star Travel in Johannesburg and to travel and leisure magazine Diversions, as well as being an associate editor at the Plettenberg Bay-based Garden Route regional newspaper, CXpress. Jon has also done extensive study on the subject of psycho-spirituality or 'mind and soul'.
